Things to do…

The Bakers Cottages are located a few miles from the picturesque village of Seaforde in the shadow of the Mourne Mountains. Although set in beautiful, tranquil surroundings the Cottages are in a central location for exploring some of the best sights of Northern Ireland. Local areas of interest include, the Mourne Mountains, Blue Flag Sandy beaches and a thirty minute drive brings you into Belfast. The popular holiday town of Newcastle is ten minutes away, home to the number one golf course in the world, Royal County Down.

Family Day Out

The Bakers Cottage is only a 5 minute drive from some of the best family days out you will have, The Montalto Estate is home to a large childrens play park as well as a lovely cafe to chill out at. Newcastle is also close by so there is loads of time to go to the amusements, take a stroll along the promenade and even buy your bucket and spade for your trip to the beach.

Sports

Northern Ireland is famous for its golfing heroes such as Rory McIlroy and Darren Clarke, those golfers have brought some of the largest golf competitions to the country such as The Open Championship. We have some lovely nearby golf courses such as Royal County Down and within 2 hours drive, Royal Portrush. If your not golfing mad, why not go for a ramble over the Mourne Mountains or go for a cycle through the silent valley

Explore the Mournes

Being only 10 minutes from the foot of the Mournes means that you can be going for a beautiful drive through the Mournes or starting a walk to the top in a matter of minutes. If you love your landscape photography this location is ideal for you. Silent valley and Spelga Dam are close by which has a lovely stoned walk around the Dam, and is ideal for the less adventurous!

Beaches

We are only 5 minutes drive from the Co Down shore and its sandy beaches, pack your bucket and spade and head for a scenic walk along the shore. Close by is Murlough Beach and Tyrella, which are also nature reserve locations bringing more picturesque views.

Eating Out

Being only 5 minutes drive from Dundrum means we are very close to some of the countries best restaurants, from Seafood to a good steak. In Newcastle you will find Indian restaurants, Italians Restaurants and even some nice fish and chips.

Game of Thrones

Northern Ireland has been home to one of the worlds best series ever produced – ‘Game of Thrones’. Filming took place at a few different locations throughout the province, places such as The Dark Hedges, The Mourne Mountains and Downhill Beach. If you are a fan of the series you should definitely take a look at the locations which were used.
